CurrentManage all aspects of the library, special collections department, and university archives. Evaluate collection for regular de-accession based on an established plan. Supervise and evaluate library employees. Interview, hire, and train new library employees. Partner with other campus departments for co-programming and initiatives. Represent Oglethorpe at local and regional consortia meetings. Negotiate contracts with vendors for additional resources for patrons. Increase circulation of technologies based on student needs. Promote research among campus community through the Student Research Fund. Coordinate information literacy program for the university. Teach for-credit classes. Provide reference assistance to campus community through virtual and in-person formats. Work with Advancement Office to establish library endowments. Serve as systems administrator for all library virtual systems. Serve as webmaster coordinating updates and changes to the library website. Embed in classes providing a tiered information literacy instruction program. Liaise with donors to the library and archives and special collections. Present to academic classes on a variety of topics (including Renaissance art, illuminated manuscripts, paleoanthropology, and information overload) at the request of faculty members. Work with other campus departments to include library in orientation and tutoring programing. Work with Registrar’s Office to develop streamline reporting to ensure proper follow-up from library instruction. Oversee daily operations of university archives and special collections. Supervise archives interns (5 per semester). Support all faculty searches with on-campus tours and library orientation. Develop open-access resources to reduce cost of attendance for students. Work with Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure collections and services reflect student body. Serve as an academic mentor to first year students.
