I am a highly motivated third-year Bachelor of Commerce student at Dalhousie University, aspiring to major in accounting. Through my classes, I have gained valuable knowledge about the operation and daily running of different businesses. Outside of classes, I am able to broaden my knowledge of commerce through various student societies, such as the Dalhousie Investment Society and the Dalhousie Accounting Society.I have experience in many fast-paced, stressful environments, that require continuous focus and commitment. Some of these include being a crew trainer at McDonald's, as well as a banquet and dinner cook at The Pictou Lodge Beach Resort in Pictou, Nova Scotia. These foodservice experiences taught me to move quickly, while still producing high-quality results. Outside of work, I am a black belt assistant instructor in karate. This helped with my communication, both oral and written, as I help with testing students for their next belt.In the past, I volunteered much of my time to high school clubs and committees. Some of these include student council president, IWK Bottle Collection Committee chair, and cross country runner. All these helped prepare me for university experiences.My overall experiences lead me to finance, where I discovered an interest in the stock market in particular, and I would be interested in my career taking me. I am excited to keep working through school and other experiences to assist my learning.
