In the early 1930s, my father-in-law, Richard "Duffy" Leach, started our agency, when he was working either out of his home in Sanford, Maine, or holding his "office hours" in front of the Sanford Trust Company building from noon until 1:30 p.m.! Someone once chided "Duffy" when he missed a couple of days, saying, "You only work an hour-and-a-half a day. Couldn't you at least be here when scheduled???" In 1970, "Duffy" opened our current location as a branch office - we are located right at the Foot of Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, and for the past 40 years, we have specialized in the sale and management of Lakefront and Country properties. Together with my wife, Jane, who is also a licensed broker in Maine and New Hampshire, as all of us in the office are, we are proud to know that perhaps we are the oldest agency in Maine that is still owned and operated by the founding family.The combined years of experience in our agency is just about 95 years! Now THAT is experience and expertise!
