About Elias Ladopoulos

Elias Ladopoulos, aka "Acidphreak"​, is an original hacker and founding member of the Masters of Deception (MOD), the renowned underground hacker group on which the movie “Hackers” and the book “The Gang That Ruled Cyberspace”, were based. Elias’ story has been chronicled in media outlets including Wired, Esquire, and Harper’s, and was one of the first subjects selected to be profiled in “This American Life” on NPR. He remains a leader and mentor to a younger generation of hackers today.Professionally, Elias has built financial execution infrastructure at the largest algorithmic broker-dealer of its time; is a former CISO; and ran cyber operations for a government contractor to US agencies. He is an advisor to Recorded Future and Eclypsium, both firms funded by In-Q-Tel; and CounterCraft, a deception technology startup incubated at GCHQ.Elias'​ investment experience includes leading two systematic AI-driven trading firms, and as investor at two prominent early-stage VCs. His involvement with cryptocurrencies began on the cypherpunks list in its early toad.com days circa 1993.
