Work carried out included:Conducting loss prevention & control audits (risk assessments and improvements) for fire and associated risks, for natural hazards and for boilers and machinery at FM Global insured sites throughout the UK, Europe and part of the Middle East.Assisting clients to develop property and asset protection programmes, emergency plans and procedures and risk management programmes.Conducting project visits and field acceptance tests and examinations for new projects in construction, fire protection, occupancy arrangements and installation of production equipment.Managing projects and providing technical support by reviewing proposals (technical specifications, drawings & calculations) in construction, fire protection (e.g. sprinkler systems and water supplies) and various installations; answering / resolving technical queries and carrying out project meetings and follow-ups, carrying out cost and time analyses, etc...Conducting quality assurance audits on approved equipment.Preparing loss prevention reports for clients with recommendations to improve their particular risks economically and effectively; reports also contained technical data, loss scenarios, analyses and loss estimate values for use by account engineers, underwriters, risk engineers, loss adjustors, brokers and risk managers.Conducting loss and claims investigations, including preparation of special investigation and loss reports following major losses.Carrying out training courses and seminars for clients.Providing training and supervision for junior Consultant Engineers.As a Lead Consultant Engineer having overall responsibility for all office risk engineering work including project plan review services & technical queries to ensure quality, timeliness and adequate resources.Working closely with Account Engineers, Underwriters, Loss Adjustors, other Engineers, clients, developers, contractors, and sub-contractors where needed.
