- Ensure the requested chemical characterization of materials, through the use of internal/external equipment and competencies, storing the results in the laboratory database. - Manage the process of analysis, in close collaboration with other functions, of different characterization needs. - Identify/apply the most suitable methods for the experiments and better data-processing criteria for the results obtained, also by formulating test protocols for specific needs. - Manage the process of theoretical or empirical modelling for measuring the test-results. - Manage the process of Quality controls at plant level, and may support the R&D Materials Technologist by carrying out the required tests in order to homologate raw materials and suppliers.- Verify the correct calibration of laboratory instruments/tools.- Communicate and interact with research institutions outside the company - Identify new opportunities for "external" characterization or for new suppliers of laboratory equipment/toolsTo apply all the requirements of related Quality Management Systems (TS EN ISO 9001, IATF 16949, TS EN ISO 14001, TS ISO 45001, TS ISO/IEC 27001, TS EN ISO 50001, ISO/IEC 17025)

* Establish characterization and categorization of materials used in automotive sealing systems and processes; finally develop standards for processes and material.* Monitor and develop metodologies of material interactions (coating, flock, flock adhesives etc.) during production.* Liaising with colleagues in production, purchasing, and marketing, & giving technical and scientific support via R&D projects and reports.* Research new or alternative material processing by using DOE (Design of experiments) application for method development, responsible for material and process improvement validation.* Generate reports on defined milestones of above activities. * Carry out national/international R&D projects,* Work with suppliers and OEM’s during supplier selection, improvement and development.* Conducting benchmark/competency analysis of parts in terms of design, material and functionality to identify opportunities for improvement.
