Hi, I'm Eli Berman, a freshman at Indiana University from Caldwell, New Jersey. I'm studying finance with a dream of working on Wall Street and making a positive impact on my community. I picked IU for its outstanding Kelley School of Business, strong Jewish community, and exciting Big Ten sports. Throughout my life, I've had a passion for business (and sports).Something that sets me apart is my international business experience. Prior to enrolling at IU, I was fortunate to participate in a "gap year program" in Israel – during which I interned at two different companies. During the fall semester, I worked at Gigawatt Global (in Jerusalem), a solar energy company focused on projects in sub-Saharan Africa. In the spring, I worked at Jika.io (in Tel Aviv), a hi-tech start-up seeking to revolutionize retail stock investing forums. While in high school, I interned at Cornerstone Macro, a macroeconomic analysis firm. I contributed to various financial analyses and research papers while reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Strategy in New York and attending several client-facing meetings. I also proudly served as Captain of our school's soccer and basketball teams, as well as President of our Investment Club. Through these experiences, I've honed my leadership skills, developed a strong work ethic, and shown the ability to thrive in diverse, fast-paced environments in different countries. I am confident that this experience has prepared me well for future professional opportunities.
