Small, Modular, Advanced, Thermal-Hydraulic, Simulator

• Design of a 1/5th scale, electrically heated, small modular reactor based on designs by Terrestrial Energy • Provide the nuclear industry with a means of measuring the pressure loss and effectiveness of SMR heat exchangers.• Validation of flow simulation models with particle image velocimetry (PIV) flow visualization.

Hull, Quebec

• Conducted a detailed feasibility study of technological solutions for monitoring of contaminated sites in Northern Canada.• Developed and economic feasibility assessment tool to allow for an assessment to be completed for future sites using site specific data.• Findings were of overall applicability to the program were presented in a detailed report and briefings were given to superiors.

Hull, Quebec

• Provided technical support for the Faro Mine contaminated site in Faro, Yukon.• Investigated renewable energy solutions for the continued remediation of the Mine Site based on a variety of factors including: potential locations on-site, resource availability, energy potential, economics, seasonal changes, environmental concerns, use of land and footprint, development, grid feedback ability, visibility and perception, ease of implementation, operability, regulatory issues, and risks.• Analyzed electrical consumption data for the mine site to determine seasonal energy requirements.• Prepared a detailed report and presentation outlining findings and energy option recommendations.

Parkhill Ontario

• Installed 230 V transmission lines connecting the Bonish wind turbine substation and the Adelaide wind turbine substation to the Evergreen substation• Installed fiber optic cables to allow for communications between the turbines and the substations• Safely controlled traffic in the work zone in order to protect the safety of fellow linemen, apprentices and laborers• Distributed materials to work crews efficiently and on time resulting in met deadlines and reduced expenses
