I assisted students by explaining concepts of financial mathematics to help them prepare for exam FM. I helped them practice the concepts they learned until they had a good grasp on how to apply them. Some students brought questions to me about the actuarial profession, exams, and major; I helped them decide if it was right for them and then made plans.

I worked with the actuarial assumption setting team to perform experience studies and update assumptions that affect pricing and financial projections. I developed new assumptions to ensure that we leverage all of the useful data available to us and created time saving macros to free up time for analysis.

I taught the Cambodian language (Khmer) to groups of volunteers going to Cambodia. I helped them practice communication skills and learn about the culture through conversations and mock lessons. I also worked to increase teaching skills among other teachers and improve the language curriculum.
