I just do independent music transcriptions, arranging, rearranging, and sometimes composing for my own leisure, although I have posted a few of them on the Musescore website, the very program I use for all this. The only actions that were necessary for this is by selecting a song I want to transcribe, take a few rounds listening to the song, determine the instruments for the piece, and work out the notes, majors/minors, keys, and so on.
