I am currently at The University of Northern Colorado, working towards a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and earning my LPCC. The faculty is stellar and I consider myself lucky to be in such capable hands. I work at the Comedy Fort, a formidable new comedy club in Fort Collins, CO and I am proud to call myself a founding member. I received my B.S. in Psychology from Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA) in 2009. The faculty too was incredible and I could not have been happier with my educational experience. I was very active in the campus community and served as the Public Relations Chair for the Psychology Club and got involved with Psi-Chi. I was awarded a position on the Dean’s List and the NSCS (National Society of Collegiate Scholars) and received the ‘Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities’ award for Outstanding Leadership. Included as one of the members on a student board, I helped in assessing the Psychology departments standards in regards to APA guidelines. In 2008 I accepted a position as a Research Assistant for the Naomi Goldstein Research Lab, where I was included as an author on two professional presentations due to my passion and dedication to the projects. These projects inspired and solidified my desire to work with adolescents struggling with addition and trauma, as both revolved around juvenile delinquency. I worked on research examining the role and weight of forensic mental health reports in child custody determinations, anger management treatment for female juvenile offenders in residential placement, and Miranda Rights comprehension in juveniles. I was trusted with assistance in IRB submissions, and gained knowledge in database management, consolidation, data analysis and interpretation, recruitment and manuscript preparation. This work, crucial in my academic journey thus far, would later give me perspective on my clients’ worldviews, as I would go on to work at a Residential Treatment Facility for youth. It was at the Turning Point Center for Youth and Family development that I developed a passion for “trauma-informed care.”I was awarded the "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities" award at Drexel University for excellence in leadership, and was involved in two honor societies. I was also the VP of Public Relations for the Psychology Club.In addition, I have experience with the United States Postal Service, fine-dining, catering and bartending, retail and HVAC.
