ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Chief Financial officer (CFO), my roles include:--Management reporting on all aspects of sales, credit and collections-Responsible for all activities involving receivables in the company from New accounts set up in the system, approval of orders and timely collection of debts in conjunction with various business line managers and key field sales officers- Ensuring completion of all clients KYC files both in the system and physical files and updating them regularly - Convener and Secretary to the credit committee meeting an organ that is responsible for making decisions on all credit matters-Setting credit limits in days and value and advising management in revision of the same as need be to enable maintain a healthy balance between sales and receivables-Setting achievable collection targets for our field officers and continuous monitoring of their progress on a periodic basis-Taking quick measures in relation to struggling accounts and advising committee on actions to take in order to avoid sliding into provision zones-Continuously monitor overall debtors against company credit limit policy to prevent over lending - Performing adhoc post invoice and delivery audits to ensure goods are delivered to intended clients and are properly received per client’s mandate as archived in the system credit files.-Sending of monthly statements via email and physical copies via sales field officers and requiring them be stamped by clients in acknowledgement of balances and filing the acknowledgements to aid in debt collection in case a client becomes delinquent and also in final audit- In conjunction with the group IT, recommend and implement changes and customization of client and receivables reports to meet the reporting needs of the function and make them easier to read and to interpret both within the company and from the client’s perspective Show less
