As a member of the freight team, my job is to receive and break down inventory pallets and organize/merchandise inventory on the sales floor. I also assist customers with any help they may need on the sales floor and can operate the cash register if necessary.

Hamer’s Speakeasy is a bar that serves hors d’oeuvres. As a server here, I could be responsible for splitting all guests that came in with a second server (in rotation), taking care of all guests by myself if I was the only server on shift, or serving wedding and banquet style parties with various amounts of help. I was also responsible for learning the history of the building, specialty cocktails and the historical figures they were based around to tell new and reoccurring guests. Over time, even as a server, I learned some of the fundamentals and basics around cocktail creation and how to manually breakdown a guest’s drink order into each component to build and customize in the system for them.

As the sole dining room assistant at 1860 Italia, my job each night was to do whatever was needed to ensure service ran efficiently. This included but was not limited to, assisting servers, running food, managing expo, bussing and resetting tables, and occasionally bar backing. I was also responsible for training new dining room assistants as they were hired.

As a lead sales associate my job was to run the store in the absence of the storemanager and assistant manager, as well as performing the basic duties of a sales associate. This often required me to close the store four days out of the week which included but was not limited to assigning closing shift tasks for employees, counting and recording the store deposit, managing customer complaints, and preparing the sales floor for the next day.
