I was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the department, staffing, budgeting, forecasting, and working with our software developers to improve the tools currently in use, as well as implement new tools to ensure the team’s success. I implemented a pod structuring of Accounting Team, which led to increased efficiency and moral. Alongside this project I discovered, modified, and implemented a data reconciliation tool for the Orders Team, who are now able to match orders to accounts using the power of Google’s search engine.

In my first managerial role at Intelisys, I managed the 8 person Inquiries Team. The core function of this team is to facilitate communication between our Sales Partners and the Telecommunications Service Providers on issues of compensation dispute. During my time leading this team, I implemented a new, decentralized, workflow that increased efficiencies considerably, and caused the number of outstanding commission disputes to drop by half.

I continued to fulfill the functions of my previous position of Commissions Accountant, but led extra projects for the team focusing on automation and audit. During this time, I wrote over twenty programs for the department in VBA, automating reporting for many of our service provider’s reports. In addition to this, I performed reconciliatory audits for numerous Sales Partners, working closely with them to ensure their understanding of their payments and the disputes they held with the service providers.

As a Commission Accountant at Intelisys, I was responsible for processing the commission reporting sent to us by the service providers, calculating sales commission for our sales partners, and ensuring accuracy and accountability throughout the process. By the end of my time in this role, I was processing more than three times the expected workload of an accountant, and was personally responsible for the payout of more than two million dollars each month. Also, in this role, I taught myself to program in Visual Basic, and began automating previously manual processes around the department. I wrote over ten programs in this role that are still in use today.

Between June and December, 2013, I was assigned to Peju Province Winery. My duties included balance sheet reconciliations, assistance in the budgeting process, data entry and manipulation, and the creation and modification of massive Excel workbooks for both the accounting and marketing departments. For the accounting dept., I created a workbook that took general ledger entries and turned them into accurate balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow. For the marketing dept., I modified a workbook that took past numbers and used them to predicted future sales trends.
