During my time at HSS, I worked directly under the Cybersecurity Operations and Engineering team. I started each day performing threat intelligence, hunting for any trending vulnerabilities within our servers, cloud instances and PCs. I would work closely with the desktop and server teams to ensure that these vulnerabilities were patched as soon as possible, as well as add IOCs linked to threat actors to our endpoint detection systems. After the CrowdStrike shutdowns in July 2024, I would end up sending daily reports to the Desktop team regarding the status of the remaining devices affected by this event, as well as ensuring each of these endpoints were both functional and protected from any threats. Another task I had this summer was incident response. Real-time incidents included phishing attacks, vulnerability scans, server attacks and much more. My team was committed to helping me learn as much as possible from this opportunity, and I couldn’t be more grateful towards them. Some other projects I was able to do include creating automation scripts for internal vulnerability management as well as providing log data reports to facilitate a SIEM migration.

During my internship with HubSpire, I had the privilege of being mentored by seasoned professionals within the cybersecurity team. This experience provided me with firsthand education in identifying real-world vulnerabilities across digital landscapes and effectively implementing security measures. Through active engagement in practical tasks, I contributed to the development of strategies aimed at protecting digital assets from evolving threats.
