Although my " official " title is Head Of In-House Design, with a team of only three producing the majority of the surfboard industry's prints we all have to wear a lot of hats. My vast array of jobs here includes preparing customer artwork for print, guiding customers from start to finish on their design visions (communicating with customer on their desires, conceptualizing, mocking up, designing, revising, and preparing for print), overseeing of order processing, packing & shipping, market data research via analytics, website management & design, lead designer on company branding and advertising, creating stock design content for purchase on our website, oversight of all social content, and pretty much just about anything that makes this shop run. I've worked with clients of all calibers; the local guy who wants you to make all the decisions for him, large corporations with 10+ people working on the project and a whole lot of bureaucracy to navigate, meticulous influencers and artists that oft times have a very specific and complex vision, and legends of industry that we don't want to disappoint. All that to say, I've learned a lot about working around various personalities and how to manage large and small projects in a way that is always prescriptive and goal-oriented.

I've ran my own freelance company since I graduated high school in 2015, and have created work for over 60 clients in my free time while also working full time. These clients have spanned friends, family, small local businesses, and corporate work for large companies like Knott's Berry Farm. Work has included - Filming / Editing - Event Photography- Concert Photography- Apparel Photography- Branding- Rebranding - Logo Design- Packaging Design - Print Design - Web Design

I created and ran this company with three other friends. I Helped manage all sales, advertising, team management (surf, skate, snow, sound, street art) and marketing. But my primary duty was content creation: coordinating, directing, filming, and editing all team sports videos and promotional videos; product photography for online items and creative photography strategically planned to help coincide with our brand image as well as editing all photography, web design and managing online orders, graphic design for our core branding as well as designs for our apparel, and social media managing / posting. I was also a part of ordering the wholesale inventory and oversight of production of our seasonal apparel capsules from start to finish. On occasion I even printing everything myself using a screen printer and several DTG machines.

Being a marketing and branding agency and a print shop all in one, I worked closely with local clients to elevate their brand in many ways, including:- complete branding or rebranding- logo creation- designing and in-house printing marketing materials ( banners, business cards, stickers, brochures, etc. - packaging design- apparel design & printing- designing car wraps Any creative needs the company had we were there to do it for them. I also branded Grapetree Concept itself from the ground up and did all of the above for the company!

Designed templates & mock-ups of region specific websites that were sold to real estate agents in said regions. The specificity of each website design was driven by market research for each region and target audience, and I developed the site's looks and feels using this information. Templates and mockups created in Photoshop / Illustrator were sliced into usable assets for the web designers to implement into final builds. I was also in charge of all company newsletter designs and sat in company meetings regarding direction for branding, marketing, and helped translate the companies visions into appropriate design for advertising and building on the brand image.

Worked in residential and commercial enviroments. We worked under contractors and homeowners, and I learned the different aspects of working under both. Specifically, I installed lighting, ran electrical wire, set up outlets, and made sure all the electrical was functioning properly.
