Assistant Professor Of Dermatopathology
As a full-time private dermatopathologist, I am thrilled to be appointed an adjunct professorship, allowing us to offer an elective rotation in our community dermatopathology laboratory, Spek Diagnostics. Medical students interested in pursing a career in dermatology or pathology, or who would like additional exposure to how an anatomic pathology laboratory operates are encouraged to apply. Rotators will be introduced to basic concepts in pathology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, digital pathology, laboratory regulations, quality control, and artificial intelligence.

Lee Moffitt Cancer Center is ranked the No. 8 cancer center in the nation, sees more than 2,000 new melanoma patients per year, and is widely recognized as one of a handful of hospitals with exceptional melanoma and skin lymphoma expertise. I completed subspecialty training for one year with Dr. Jane Messina in diagnosis, staging and prognostics of melanoma and other skin cancers, and in interpretation of all malignant and benign skin biopsies. The program is supplemented by alternating rotations in the dermatology clinics and dermatopathology services at USF Morsani Clinic, the Moffitt Cutaneous Oncology program, and the James A. Haley Veteran's Health Dermatology Clinic. Participated in IRB-approved research on mycosis fungoides.
