With nearly two decades of increasingly demanding job experience as development economist - still passionate about eradicating poverty in all its forms. Currently working as Chief Economist at Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with a goal to improve living conditions for people living in poverty and under oppression. Previous experience as Senior Specialist in Employment and Poverty Diagnostics at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) of the United Nations with a focus on analysing the economic and employment impacts of climate change and Just Transition, monitoring changes in development dynamics in times of multiple crises and building capacity to improve development impact. Prior experience as Lead Economist at Sida leading Sida's task force for inclusive and sustainable economic growth and working on multidimensional poverty analytics. Worked in Rwanda managing Sida's project portfolio for productive employment and market systems development, and have previous experience from international financing institutions working for the World Bank in Washington DC with policy support, inclusive growth, development effectiveness, and migration. Solid academic background with Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sussex, M.Sc in Economics and in Development Studies, and research experience from several international universities. Experienced leader in development, life-long learner of new working methods and training in e.g. environmental economics, applied statistics, and development financing. Determined to make a difference in the lives of people living in poverty and for striving towards a sustainable future for the generations to come.
