I have recently graduated summa cum laude as an interdisciplinary Honors Scholar with a BA in Environmental Studies and a minor in Geography from the University of Connecticut. Through a combination of interdisciplinary coursework and funded independent research, I have developed an understanding of the varied consequences of anthropogenic influence on the global environment while independently researching the relationship between cultural products (folklore) and environmental behavior. My thesis is entitled: “Cast in the Devil’s Clothes”: The Cultural Construction of the Grey Wolf from Antiquity to Present.My interests are broad and include climate change, GIS, physical geography, disaster preparedness, and physical/chemical oceanography related to climate change, and the intersection of arts and science as demonstrated by my non-fiction and creative writing.
