While freelancing as a writer, editor, and proofreader for 10+ years, I have worked on a variety of projects. I have ghostwritten several novels, proofread and edited 30+ books, and created original web content for new businesses. I've been an English language coach, a guest blogger, and a translator from Russian to English. In addition, I'm a virtual assistant and have provided multiple companies with social media marketing expertise.How did it all begin? I've always been that strange grammar-obsessed bookworm who carries a pencil around everywhere I go so that I can edit any errors I find in (nearly) every book/magazine/newspaper I read for pleasure. When I browse the internet, I contact companies with grammar edits and user experience feedback if I spot errors on their websites. I was the strange college student who actually enjoyed being assigned lengthy essays. In fact, I tutored other students and edited their assignments, just for the fun of it. One day, I decided to turn that passion into my career. Additionally, I majored in Business and English and have experience as an administrative assistant, general manager, and classroom instructor. I am always learning, registering for online training sessions and classes (currently learning more about UX and marketing), and interning in order to acquire new skills and keep up-to-date.Other passions of mine are long-distance backpacking and traveling internationally and domestically. Working as a freelance writer and social media marketer has allowed me to pursue my career and satisfy my love for travel simultaneously. Whether I'm having an espresso in a quaint cafe in Paris or eating fresh papaya in a straw-covered beach cottage in Costa Rica, any projects you hire me for will be completed in a timely manner, with my love for writing, editing, or marketing clearly visible in my work.Although I have worked for a fantastic book publishing company for years, I take on many freelance projects on the side. I usually do so through word-of-mouth, but when I started off, I used UpWork to find my clients.
