About Eline Achterberg

I firmly believe that corporations not only have a responsibility to respect human rights, but should not be so powerful that they can carelessly infringe on people's dignity in the first place. It is this belief that drives my work, which I have dedicated to advocating for corporate human rights accountability. As policy lead at Oxfam Novib, I focus this advocacy on companies in the food and agricultural sectors, where maltreatment of workers, land grabbing from Indigenous peoples, violence against women, and exploitation of small-scale farmers remain widespread. Long way to go, so let's get to work.But because life is not just about labour: I'm always open to golden retriever memes, Zelda nerdiness, hot book tips that I will collect but hardly get around to reading, and analogue photography.
