I joined the lab of Prof. Dr. Frank Kirchhoff to perform my master thesis entitled “Impact of cuprizone induced de- and remyelination on murine spinal glial cells”. The project involved two main objectives: Identification of molecular changes that occur in glial cells of the spinal cord after toxic demyelination paradigm; and, analysis of in vivo astrocytic Ca2+ signals utilizing in vivo 2-photon laser scanning microscopy, in the spinal cord of GCaMP3 expressing mice after demyelination.Part of the data has been published in the following publication:Rieder et al., 2022. Internship with the research group directed by Prof. Dr. Silvia de Marchis to acquire basic knowledge regarding mouse handling and genotyping, and immunofluorescence tissue staining (mouse and human hippocampus).

With Prof. Dr. Salvatore Oliviero for the practical laboratory component of the "Genetics and Molecular Biology" course.

My project was focused on studying the effects mediated by M2 muscarinic receptor on cell proliferation and survival in different human Neuroblastoma cell lines.The data reported in my thesis have been enclosed in this article:Lucianò et al, 2019.
