Decker’s photographic images result from an ongoing inquiry into the possibilities for the miraculous in the everyday. They celebrate serendipitous findings filtered through a painter’s sensibility. Texture, color, movement and ambiguity of scale come into play in works derived from both natural and inorganic sources. Conceptually, the work is simply about being present and responding to whatever calls out to her. Subjects range from abstraction to flora and fauna, and include portraiture, still life, and street photography as well. The Jefferson Market Library in New York City showed "Stones Speak" (January, 2018) featuring selections from her current paving stone and puddle series.An ongoing series begun January 1, 2011 documents what Decker observes every morning from her New York City perch overlooking the Hudson River. An installation at Westbeth Gallery of 144 images was featured in "Time Frames Marking Time," curated by Decker and B. Lubliner, May 24-June 16, 2014. A solo show of an even larger installation from her "Hudson River Park" series was shown in October 2014 at the Gallery of the Manhattan Borough President's Office. Decker curated "Sympathetic Magic" (31 artists), Westbeth Gallery (March 29-April 15, 2018).
