My Role: -Created an online map of vacant parcels to be used for farming by cleaning, aggregating, analyzing and mapping data from several sources. -Developed information resources about soil contamination and soil testing in urban areas.► Small FarmGoal: help local small farmers optimizing their agricultural practices. Research projects focused on pest monitoring, nutrient and irrigation management.My Role: -Built sensors and set up fields for (remote) data collection, performed statstical analysis in R, wrote reports and presented at conferences.-Gathered and analyzed data about pesticide use in the county.-Assisted with grant writing and wrote academic article.► Livestock and Natural ResourcesGoal: promote working landscapes to conserve biological diversity, protect water quality and sustain livestock production.My Role:-Built a database on endangered species using data from several online sources and performed data queries and visualization as requested using Access, Excel or R.-Wrote a model in ArcGIS to map water ponds and vegetation using aerial imagery and LiDAR-Wrote scripts in R to merge, clean and edit a dataset containing livestock information (>300 000 records).-Perform data and GIS tasks on an as-needed basis.
