I am a journalist and photographer focused on sustainability, cultural histories, outdoor recreation and travel for print and online media. I love learning about cultural traditions and exploring wild spaces. You'll see my work in places like BBC Travel, Travel + Leisure, LA Parent, Territory Supply, the Los Angeles Times, Sierra, The Compass (travel advisor B2B pub), and FACES (a children's magazine of arts and culture). My experience in journalism and publishing have allowed me to play with words and pictures, talk to fascinating people, explore new ideas and master storytelling. My skills include reporting, editing, copywriting and editorial marketing. I've written for a wide range of publications, including newspapers, consumer and business publications (B2C and B2B), the travel trade, destination marketing organizations, developers, book publishers and creative agencies. I run a small press called EyeMuse Books with two cultural guidebook titles, one of which won a New Mexico Book Award for Travel in 2010. It is also used as text for the New Mexico State Historian's Digital History Project. I have authored five books: two nonfiction cultural guides and three children's books. Another nonfiction travel title will be added to that in 2025. I have a background as a qualitative researcher/analyst for private sector and nonprofit clients. From providing key insights, online and offline moderation, analysis, research design—you name it, I've done it. I am independent, reliable and curious with a knack for patterns, linking disparate information and uncovering hard to find information. I'm a strategic thinker and problem solver with a "let's do this" attitude.
