My responsbilities are related to the writing of international an national research projects, whose aim is to support financially the team I am working with. One of the national founded project written has been fully founded in December 2017 (by MIPAAF); another project - PRIMA - in partnership with Mediterranean countries passed the first evaluation step. Another kind of responsibility is related to publish scientific articles in peer reviewed journals. I published as first author and I collaborated in the revision process for the submission of other papers now published or under revision. Lastly, the management of the founds of the team, the process of acquisition of goods and services through the public administration system. Research on how food packaging can be added with antimicrobials so to extend foods' shelf-life. Collaboration, in various EU and national research projects whose aim is to ameliorate food waste, extracting molecules useful for the packaging industry.

Main research interest: foodscape, i.e. how the environment interacts with individuals during their food experience, and vice versa - food design, food syntax and cultural identity, technology and food behaviours.Leader of the group that developed the concept of the Barilla restaurant inside the Google campus in MTV. This involved face-to-face interviews to understand what people from different cultural background would expect from a dining restaurant, focusing on the perception of the Mediterranean Diet outside Italy and specifically how a new design of the space would improve the dining time. Main points considered: the 'conviviality' factor, the possibility to have healthy food easy to select, and the concept of a more plant-based diet, combined with pasta.Project Manager of the Food Innovation Summer School a collaboration of the Future Food Institute with the University of Messina.

The program provided the fundaments of the Design Thinking Approach and creative learning. Analysis of consumer behaviour; fast prototype and research were possible also with the technical support of the digital fabrication tools.Six-month internship at the R&D HQ of Alce Nero (Bologna, Italy): design of an innovative pilot programme in food education. The challenge was to use an ‘organic’ approach to create a symbiotic relationship between teachers and parents to promote healthy food experiences for kids.

The dissertation was focused on Food Politics and Economics: the determinants of food health, security and trade liberalization. Specifically, the model considered the ‘macro’ determinants of the food security, e.g. the role of the access to health care and education, public and trade policies.
