development of new filtration membrane

I work on the development of a polymer material which will play the role of the sensitive layer in a pesticide sensor. I have been in charge of the realisation of the whole project. It includes the synthesis of the material based on silicones and its characterization with different techniques (NMR, infra-red spectroscopy, optical microscope, ...). As it was a pluridisciplinary project, I have to collaborate with physicians for the developement of the sensors. I have improved my skills in adapting myself and my speach to people with different scientific knowledge. I have also set up analyses protocols in collaboration with the engineer in charge of HPLC analyses. As a result of these three years work, I have written a document and have presented my results.

I worked on the synthesis of products for conferring oil and water-repellency to leather. I have employed different polymerization methods and have to characterize the obtained products as well as to assess their properties.
