I am a developer with an expertise in DevOps practices. I love automating tasks, whether it's building out cloud environments, migrations, or clicking through installers. For instance, in my first year as a developer I developed a Java CLI tool that would build and provision an AWS environment with a user-defined XML doc using Amazon's Web Service SDK. Even if something "isn't possible" to automate, I usually take it as a challenge. For example, when tasked with automating the provision and set up of Fortify SSC, a security tool used for code scanning, I had the fun opportunity of learning PhantomJS to click through its installer when it wasn't possible to automate with only conventional methods. Being fluent in four languages, a musician, and a world traveler I like to be in a constant state of learning whether it's new tools, cultures, languages, instruments, or sharpening up my development skills. I also enjoy teaching others what I have learned. I've had the unique opportunity of leading a group of interns in a project where we demonstrated a ChatOps bot using Slack. They learned the values of working a project with Agile development values, as well as the experience they gained with CoffeeScript. I later had the privilege of volunteering to demonstrate the bot and show the CI/CD process when we hosted a Girls Who Code event.
