As an assistant teaching professor, I teach microbiology courses for nursing students and science majors in the Biology department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University.

As a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Dr. Kari Nadeau, I studied how air pollutants influence epigenetic modifications during pregnancy and early life, with a specific focus on the mechanism of allergies. I also studied mechanisms of infant colic and worked with intestinal organoid model systems.

As a postdoctoral associate, I conducted an allergy treatment clinical trial and helped design, conduct and analyze the related experiments.

My Ph.D. is in Immunology and Infectious Diseases from Cornell University. My dissertation research identified and characterized peripheral IgE+ monocytes and plasmablasts in the mechanism of allergy. The results of my work are being used to develop a biomarker to monitor allergen immunotherapy treatments. I also developed a novel anti-equine monoclonal.

Course: Introduction to Cellular and Developmental Biology (BIOMG 1350)In this position, I taught three weekly active learning sections (total of 60 students) for the duration of the semester. Each week's activity included a short introductory lecture followed by a 40 minute interactive activity that supplemented the course lectures. My responsibilities.

In this position, I worked alongside students on academic probation (less than a 2.0 GPA) and helped them develop study skills, time management techniques, and connect with on-campus resources. This position requires interpersonal connection, leadership, and organization as I planned and led individual weekly meetings with students.

Course: GeneticsIn this position I helped students understand the mechanisms of genetics. I also set up Drosophila fly crosses and graded tests and homework.

In this position, I learned the techniques of cell culture, PCR, Flow Cytometry and ELISA. I was responsible for comparing the effect of sphingosine kinase 4 in mast cells and basophils. This may be relevant information for future anaphylaxis treatment.

Course: Introduction to BiochemistryIn this position, I helped grade homework, quizzes, and tests, held office hours as needed, and taught review sections before each test.

As a lifeguard, I monitored safety in and around the pool, performed basic first aid as needed, oversaw newer staff, answered the phone, performed daily chemical checks, and promoted a positive environment. As a head swim instructor, I taught basic swimming skills(floating, elementary crawl and backstroke, going under water) to 4-6 year olds, helped create.

I was responsible for organizing small group bible studies for the students in my dorm and served as a mentor for the group leaders.
