I am an energetic and motivated individual who has high standards and a desire to be the best I can be .I aim to be inspiring teacher, who generates creativity and brings forward new ideas.I have just started a PhD - Education staff fulfilment and motivation in Cumbria.I am qualified Geography teacher and was head of Humanities department and Environmental Studies in a EBD school for seven years. I have gained much experience also working in outdoor environments, in forest school activities, John Muir certificates and working with animals.I completed a MSc Ecology and Environment where I researched microbial respiration rates in relation to stressed and unstressed soils and the ability to recover after periods of drought. This helped to form a secure base for my Geography and Environmental teaching.I have been teaching for 12 years and have a passion increasingly for teacher education. I completed my Masters in Education (researching retention in year 11 boys) after my PGCE Geography Secondary qualification and QTS. I have completed my project for my NPQML at Arnside Primary school.Working for seven years in an EBD boys’ boarding school it was essential I was innovative, to think about how the lessons and environments for learning could be more successful in the future. I am creative and always aim to improve my practice, which not only benefits the young people but support staff. For part of my MA research and, part of my everyday role I investigated ADHD and Dyslexia provision and helped the learning support tutors. I worked as a Humanities teacher at Heysham High School for a academic year starting October 2015, and had been given extra pastoral responsibility in the post of Assistant Head of year 10 on a temporary contract finished at the end of July 2016. Prior to this I worked doing supply teaching and mainly covered Science, Geography, History, Art and English. I was an assessor at Kendal college teaching Maths, English and ICT . In August 2017 i started as Maths lecturer at Lancaster and Morecambe college and was part of the teacher education team, landbased with Eden learning. I am on line tutoring at L7 with BPN within Outstanding leadership partnership with those doing NPQML, NPQSL, NPQH and NPQEH, giving feedback on leadership and school SIP projects linking this to educational research and leadership strategies. I have also recently started work as a contract online tutor for the high level apprentices L5 delivering the Departmental Operations Manager qualification which maps to the NPQs.
