Instructor for Environmental Geology and Physical Geology. Labs and lectures cover earth systems, tectonic processes rocks and minerals, geologic processes, geologic hazards (earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, landslides, and coastal processes), water, soil, mineral, energy and air resources, how humans impact the earth, and sustainability. Students are challenged and engaged through giving presentations, discussion, participating in labs and going on field trips.

Consulting projects have included: Research project for Naropa University; Instructor for Geology classes offered by REG REVIEW, Inc. for the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG) Professional Geologist licensure examination; Review of geologic reports related to mining in Arizona for a Colorado consulting firm; Development of a density-dependent ground water model with GIS input for an aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) project in southern Florida for Army Corps of Engineers; Technical writing and revision of procedures for Sunoco, NJ; Report writing and review for municipal water well construction projects in Pennsylvania; Annual hydrologic reports for the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC); DRBC permit applications for new wells; and Fracture-network studies, and development of technical and quality assurance reports for the Yucca Mountain Project, Nevada, US Geological Survey.

Project leader for: Site Scale Saturated-zone Data Synthesis and Modeling and Fracture Network Modeling. Managed operations for both projects including time tables, budgets, quality assurance, management of documents, reports and data. Oversaw a National Laboratory contract for development of a stochastic fracture-network model. Wrote and published a revised ground-water map for Yucca Mountain, Nevada. Conducted field work to collect outcrop fracture data for ground water modeling. Developed databases for fracture and ground-water data with Arc/INFO and GIS. Analyzed fracture data with SAS and other statistical programs, and wrote and published related reports. Assisted colleagues in fracture-network modeling at a multiple well complex using fracture data from outcrops, boreholes and geophysical studies.Project leader for a large ground-water quality study of the Potomac-Raritan Magothy Aquifer system in the coastal plain, New Jersey. Designed well sampling network, oversaw and conducted water-quality sampling, and quality assurance of the samples collected. Performed analysis and interpretation of the ground-water chemistry results, and published a report on ground-water quality in the aquifer. Worked on a study detailing Lead and Cadmium contamination associated with Saltwater Intrusion in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties, New Jersey and co-published the results.

Hydrologist and technical team member for the Underground Injection Control Program. Duties consisted of monitoring tertiary oil recovery activities including fracking of old oil wells, reviewed technical aspects of injection well permit applications, and conducted construction and monitoring inspections of injection wells in northwestern Pennsylvania. Responsible for overseeing project to identify and locate abandoned oil and gas wells using remote sensing techniques in the Allegheny Plateau in northwestern, PA.
