• Organized Arabic reading groups that met to discuss and assess six Syrian fiction and non-fiction titles, in London, New York City, Cairo (2013-4), and Washington DC (2015).• Selected titles, secured world English rights, commissioned and edited literary translations.• Reported on readers’ feedback on the books, with an eye towards translation and publication.• Three out of six books discussed thus far have been acquired by publishers.
