When I was in highschool, I started an account on instagram to make posts about my favorite show, Stranger Things. Two years later that account had 200,000 followers, millions of views, and recognition from the show’s actors. The revenue generated from the account was over $1,000. During that time I also started a youtube channel using the editing software Adobe After Effects. The channel reached nearly 4,000 subscribers and over a million views on my most popular video. The positive feedback produced by my success encouraged me to further explore social media marketing, film editing, and software development.Throughout my childhood and into my adult life, I’ve always had a talent and passion for creating. It started with making cardboard furniture for my sister’s dolls when I was 12, then creating drawings and paintings, eventually leading to photo and video editing. Today I like to take my skills and creativity, and focus it into my work when coding websites. Because I’ve always been a creator and a problem solver, I was immediately drawn to web development when I began seeking a career and found my way to V School, where I learned front and back end coding with React, JS, CSS, HTML, Node, MongoDB, Express and ES6. On my own time I would also teach myself to use Wordpress.Currently, I am building a website for a client to display their creative work and advertise their brand. I am also learning another language (swedish), teaching myself how to sew professionally, and as soon as the pandemic is over I will get to continue my volunteer work as a music director for my local elementary school’s annual musical.
