I provided supplemental education to scholars ranging from grades 4-8th. The education given was focused on improving reading comprehension, critical thinking skills, and logical reasoning. Additionally, I worked extensively with scholars on mathematical problems involving fractions and introduced algebraic expressions.

I organized and implemented a range of program services and activities for enrolled members. Additionally, I supervised members in my program area while ensuring their safety, positive values and ethical behavior were followed at all times.

My duties as an Ambassador in Admissions included weekly tours of the University to prospective students and their families. I placed phone calls to prospective students congratulating them on their acceptance to the university or reminding them to submit pieces of the application. I served as the face of the university as I interacted with prospective students and tell them about all of the wonderful resources the university has to offer them.

My job as a Resident Assistant was to help create and facilitate an environment of student learning in the residence halls, through planned and intentional educational outreach programs, as well as through informal activities. As a campus leader and role model, I had the opportunity to observe and correct undesirable behavior while teaching new skills in problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking. I served as a method to orient students to college life and aid in their emotional and academic adjustment as well as helped them to develop individual social skills.

As an Overnight Student Ambassador, I served as a representative of Valparaiso University and the Office of Undergraduate Admission by hosting prospective students who wanted to get a feel for what it is like to live and learn at Valparaiso University.

As a student fundraiser, I was responsible for calling constituents of the institution, providing institutional updates, stewarding fundraising efforts and updating contact information. I was expected to follow a pre-determined ask structure and to consistently and successfully integrate specific fundraising techniques and strategies. I utilized an automated calling system in a professional and enthusiastic environment while demonstrating strong oral communication skills and insightful knowledge of the institution.
