Ruth Elisa is a lifestyle and finance coach who has walked the walk and lives the lessons she teaches. At the age of 18, the upstate New York native made the decision to sustain financial authority after years of childhood poverty. A product of the New York State foster care system, Ruth was placed in eight different homes and experienced the effects of financial instability and emotional abuse. It was not until she met a well-off uncle and a special foster care parent that she discovered she could achieve a better quality of life and afford nice things.Ruth attended college at Rochester Institute of Technology and University at Buffalo for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She promised herself she would never be poor again, so while many of her peers were destroying their credit in their collegiate years, she remained focused managing her finances and building healthy credit. By the age of 21, Ruth had a credit score of 720. Even when forced to make choices that damaged her credit, she would apply the knowledge she had acquired throughout the years to restore it. A short while later, she began helping her friends budget their income and improve their credit as well. Having an educational background in financial literacy in urban districts, Ruth saw a connection to her childhood and founded Elisa Plan Credit & Coaching. Her finance plan has helped over 2,000 people achieve their financial goals and exit poverty caused by poor money management. Today, Ruth is a proud mother of two children, a credit expert and a lifestyle coach residing in Rochester, New York. She has dedicated her career to financial mentoring to improve the quality of life for others as she had done for herself.
