CurrentWomen’s Golf Day is a one day global event celebrating girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime. It is a collaborative effort by a dedicated team, golf management companies, retailers and organizations all working together worldwide to Engage, Empower & Support girls and women through golf. www.womensgolfday.comThe inaugural event was held June 7, 2016 and over 485 locations in 28 countries and went on for 24 hours straight around the globe women were participating in a WGD event staring in Australia and ending in Hawaii. In 2017 WGD grew 68% with 711 locations participating in 46 countries. To date over 900 locations in 52 countries have hosted a Women's Golf Day event and a movement was started to raise awareness and get women involved in golf. This one day global golf initiative which introduces women and girls to the game also encourages existing golfers to tee it up in a fun and non-threatening environment. The WGD events around the world showed how golf and women coming together can transcend language, culture, religion and race. The four hour experience allows a simple and accessible platform to build a foundation and creates a network to support the continuation of golf no matter what skill level or interest. It is a celebration of golf, women, and community.
