I worked in retail for several years after completion of year 12, moving into administration and office support within a variety of industries, including the Police Department, Toyota/Lexus Head Office and eventually, starting my own businesses. My secretarial service businesses were based in Cottesloe (28 offices), West Perth (28 offices) Subiaco (45 offices) and Osborne Park (20 offices). Our client base ranged from medical, financial accounting, to retail, real estate and the food industry. I also started a company that looked after 40 short-term 2-bedroom apartments. I was involved in every aspect of the business, from leasing, marketing and accounting, to working the front counter, checking guests in and out, maintenance of the apartments and managing cleaning staff. We had a global clientele of corporate and leisure based tenants. I became Strata Manager for the complex and was based there for over 20 years. I am now part owner and work as an Executive Assistant to The Unreel Cable Co., 1 Point Distribution Pty Ltd and Grove Communication Supplies. These 3 companies are all Independent and Australian owned. We work in the telecommunication wholesale industry and I’m very excited to be part of a team that is bringing manufacturing back to Australia.
