About Elisa Speranza

Throughout my career, I've helped purpose-driven organizations succeed so that people, communities, and ecosystems can thrive and prosper. I am passionate about improving the human condition through environmental stewardship, social justice, organizational excellence, and storytelling. I serve as an independent board director for companies and non-profit organizations, bringing deep operations, management, talent development, ESG, and strategic communications experience to bear on the often unglamorous but essential work of governance. I am intentional about promoting equity in all realms. During this "encore career" phase of my life, I'm doing some pro bono infrastructure work, mostly in New Orleans, and I've focused on becoming a good literary citizen. I co-founded a writers collective on Martha's Vineyard, and serve on the board of the New Orleans Writers Workshop. In 2022, I published my debut novel, The Italian Prisoner. Find out more at www.elisamariesperanza.comI'm originally from Lynn, Massachusetts, and spent my formative years in the Boston area. I’ve lived in New Orleans since 2002 and spend summers in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts. I remain a devoted member of Red Sox Nation, in spite of it all.
