Working in the Secure Communities practice area at an international development and sustainability consulting firm specializing in public-private partnerships, I supported the technical implementation and management of projects focusing on preventing violent extremism, security, and private sector development in frontier markets and fragile contexts.I managed projects with a combined budget of 2.2MM, developed curricula and trained over 90 development practitioners and community stakeholders in conflict prevention and countering violent extremism in Africa, and helped the Nigerian government of Borno State develop a strategy for countering violent extremism in the conflict-affected region.I also conducted research on public-private partnerships addressing root causes of conflict in communities and developed case studies and profiles of successful partnerships that achieved both value for businesses and society.As Project Manager, I managed short-term consultants and one field staff member, supported new business development efforts, served on the company's Brand Trust, developing a strategy for the company's re-branding, and helped the company grow by over 300% in both revenue and staffing during my time at SSG.

I facilitated an online forum for over 400 development practitioners, academics, and other experts guiding discussion around best practices and knowledge transfer of conflict prevention and CVE in Africa. I conducted research on key trends in violent extremism and led the development of an online training course to equip development practitioners with a basic understanding of the drivers of violent extremism and CVE strategies. I also provided support in monitoring and evaluating security sector reform projects, including collecting data and conducting key informant interviews in Belize.As Project Analyst, I supported project management of five projects, providing technical input, managing project expenditures, and ensuring compliance with USAID, SSG, United States, and local regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to projects. I also supported business development efforts, specifically related to CVE, conflict prevention, security, private sector engagement and development, and democracy and governance.

• Supported the management of multi-sectoral emergency response and development projects through composing annual and quarterly reports for government and donors, managing grants, developing and tracking budgets, organizing meetings, and providing administrative support.• Directly supported 12 proposals, successfully obtaining more than $15 million in funding.• Improved the program’s external visibility by creating project overviews, documenting project success stories, and overseeing a program newsletter.• Developed and redesigned Participatory Learning and Action training manuals and trained over 20 staff to increase their capacity to monitor and report on project progress.

• Supported program management for the Project on Leadership and Building State Capacity through research, drafting of correspondence for senior management, domestic and international event facilitation, drafting of meeting reports and briefings, and general administrative support. • Developed program blog Africa UP Close, spearheading its website design, establishing a strong presence on social media, and facilitating its content and management as a liaison between the program and contributing authors.• Developed the communications strategy and standard operating procedures for Africa UP Close, achieving a readership of over 4,000 individuals from over 30 countries in the first year alone.• Represented the Wilson Center at area events and liaised with other key individuals and organizations.
