I am an adjunct professor of ESOL and a TESOL certified ESL instructor. I teach classes of up to 18 students, as well as, one on one tutoring. I enjoy both! With my classes, my students are able to practice their speaking skills, and we have a lot of fun playing games that help increase vocabulary, as well! I love teaching grammar which helps the students understand why I am telling them to pronounce a word a certain way, or where it belongs in a sentence. One on one tutoring is my favorite because I am able to get to know the student and design my lessons to be more specific. Everybody learns in a different way, and at a different rate. and one on one tutoring is perfect for meeting those needsI help students acclimate to their new surroundings by showing them how to complete simple tasks such as shopping and banking. Life skills are so important and many students are studying English for just that reason. It is a bonus when a student wants to push their academic skills, and I enjoy preparing students for testing if they want to take their education further.Reading, writing and speaking English is so necessary in order to achieve success in the workplace, and it is one of my goals to see my students reach their full potential.
