Bring leadership to the local initiative that empowers people to attack poverty in their lives and community. Our mission is to break the generational cycle of poverty in North Richmond through spiritual growth, education, revitalization, and basic needs.

As the Volunteer Coordinator, I over saw the recruitment, training, and work of all of the volunteers at Friends of North Richmond. Ultimately, my goal was to match volunteers passions with the available volunteer opportunities in our initiative. As the Programs Coordinator, I encouraged and managed that over saw the implementation and vision of each of our programs as well as partner programs for our initiative. This included: You Can Academy (our after school tutoring program), Adult Education Classes (ESL, GED-prep, Jobs for Life, and Computer classes), home revitalization, and other various program. My goal was to not only help programs meet current goals but also for these programs to flourish and expand.

I create, implement and coordinate the internship program for Attack Poverty through networking with numerous other organizations while recruiting, screening, supervising and training all interns. I also assist in general fundraising and collection of data for analysis, evaluation and improvement of the internship program.I am also the Director of Social Media. I manage all of the Attack Poverty social media accounts including: Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Facebook, and Linkedin

I supervised, instructed and led callers to work in the most efficient manner possible while resolving computer problems, speaking with angry donors, and handling weekly paper work.

I organized events, created a children’s summer camp, and recruited volunteers to help achieve the mission of the organization: breaking the generational cycle of poverty.

I provided superior customer service, including greeting the customer, customizing the stuffed animal through up selling and ending with a great checkout experience

I worked one-on-one with children who have special needs in order to integrate them into an all-inclusive day camp
