I am the founding partner of Crosby Law firm, serving Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg Counties in South Carolina. I spent the first decade as a criminal trial lawyer, starting as a clerk with the US Attorney, then as Assistant Solicitor in Charleston and Georgetown, ending as the Deputy Solicitor. I entered private practice with a civil firm with a national practice, handling institutional abuse, malpractice, and condemnation cases until my appointment as City Attorney. When I opened Crosby Law Firm in 1994, my husband and his family law practice followed and I expanded my primarily government law practice into the Family Court, which I found to be a perfect fit. I love trial law and still handle some negligence and civil rights cases, as I will always have a heart for justice. I've found the ideal balance: my divorce, custody, and mediation clients keep me in the world of getting results for real people, and my cities, towns, and counties let me practice the more intellectually wonky side of government law, planning, and appeals the writer in me loves.
