Hi, my name is Elise PrinsenI am doing my Master of Science in Medicine at the University of Groningen.Throughout my study, I encountered the complex variety of Global Health challenges we face as future healthcare professionals: the climate crisis as a healthcare crisis, healthcare systems and costs that are under high pressure, and the growing number of people with little or no access to basic healthcare. As from my experiences during my many refugee work, I'm very passionate about human rights. Given that nearly half of all pregnancies are unintended, my passion for human rights, and climate, I did a Master's Thesis about modern contraception use and unintended pregnancies in the asylum seeker center of Ter Apel in the Netherlands. During my Master's Thesis, I learned about the complexity of the barriers to access to contraception, preconception care, and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. Therefore, my aspiration began to discover how we can improve contraception & preconception care by empowering people with the information, means, and methods to do so.Interested in connecting?
