As Development Manager, Distinguished Events, I plan and execute exceptional events for the American Cancer Society. I am accountable for significant income targets, as well as event-related mission and advocacy activities. I ensure goal achievement through effective leadership and collaboration with diverse teams, and the engagement of volunteers. Through distinguished events such as golf tournaments and galas, funds are raised for ground breaking research and patient services in Washington. Research is at the heart of our mission. In fact, no single nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization in the US has invested more to find the causes and cure of cancer. Your ACS has spent more than $3.8 billion on cancer research to date. Since 1946, there have been 47 Nobel Peace Prize winners funded by the ACS.
