About Elise Forys
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purdue University Fort Wayne. As a psychology major, I am not only fascinated by connections made in the brain and how those influence our thoughts, actions, and decision-making but also by how our brain chemistry impacts our ability to work through trauma and grow from experience. I feel inspired the most when helping others and I try to seize any opportunity to do so. Whether it's listening to a friend and helping through hard times or volunteering in my community, I remain motivated to leave an impact wherever I go. I feel my purpose is to be a voice for children as they are the most vulnerable members of our society. They are all of our future and it's important that we continue to support and build them up and provide a space for them to grow and succeed. In my current role, I have grown both personally and professionally as SCAN has provided me with several opportunities for continuous learning in topics such as domestic violence, individualized strengths, time management, and parenting programs, to name a few.
