Developed business and acquisition models, managed due-diligence, negotiations and development of Legal documents and closing materials. Facilitated integration activities.

Responsible for the Branded Business Unit focusing on EpiCeram, a dermatological agent used in atopic dermatitis. Developed and managed a Specialty Field Force in a "Start-up" environment without substantial capital support. Success required a keen eye towards prioritization and creativity to leverage scientific data, and marketing assets to extend reach. I also launched a line of non-Rx Direct dispense products as a complement to the Rx line.

Recruited to lead the entrée into American market of this privately held company acquired by the Chemo Group of Spain, with intention of transforming into an ethical pharmaceutical company focused on the OB/GYN segment. Complete oversight of product development, sales, marketing, finance, regulatory, quality and human resources.

Responsible for the development and execution of global strategic and operational plans for Specialized Therapeutics Business Unit including Betaseron the largest product in the Bayer portfolio (sales of $ 1.4 billion 2007). Direct budget responsibility for global strategic marketing and oversight of global Marketing and Sales expenditures. Also responsible for global pre-launch marketing and planning for a development portfolio of 10+ projects (Phase I-III and life cycle management) Responsibilities also included oversight of research and development programs as part of a matrixed Leadership Team.

Responsible for the creation of a US Dermatology Division. Starting without product or infrastructure, developed and executed a business plan leading to a profitable business venture. Led marketing, clinical, medical affairs and sales efforts. • Acquired and developed products and built the required infrastructure for a business unit that is a stand-alone business today as Intendis®.

Inaugurated the Operating Field Committee, a sub-committee of the Executive Committee, charged with development and delivery of the 3 year operating plan including resource deployment across all Business Units (Women’s Health, Specialized Medicine, Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Dermatology). Provided oversight on day-to-day US commercial activities and established policy and procedures. Evaluated and approved all pricing decisions.

Managed the field sales organization, sales operations, key account, distribution, and contracting. Field sales unit consisted of over 800 representatives organized into 4 specialty forces. • Managed the Berlex Office of Technology, a group of 5 scientific experts dedicated to the identification and development of acquisition opportunities. This group has since evolved into business development, a global function.

Led the US Imaging business, comprised of marketing, clinical development and medical affairs with a staff size of 50. • Stabilized key brand, Magnevist®, upon entry of two competitors following loss of exclusivity in a price sensitive, contracting environment. Maintained over 50% market share while maintaining high profit levels through development and execution of the first account-based decision framework for sales and marketing. • Conceived, designed, negotiated and executed an innovative marketing and distribution agreement with Abbott Laboratories.• Acquired and launched a novel imaging agent. Launched a line of in-vivo contrast agents that broadened the US business from a single product company to a competitive business entity
