As Permit Inspector I work predominantly on cases related to the geothermal energy production and salt mining, as well as on the storage of gases in the subsurface. At State Supervision of Mines we are committed to the safety of people and the protection of the environment during energy production and the use of the subsurface, now and in the future. Als Inspecteur Vergunningen werk ik voornamelijk aan dossiers die betrekking hebben op de aardwarmte- en zoutwinning, alsook opslag van verschillende gassen in Nederland. Staatstoezicht op de Mijnen maakt zich sterk voor de veiligheid van de mens en de bescherming van het milieu bij energiewinning en het benutten van de ondergrond, nu en in de toekomst.

Enerzijds vanuit een Spoor 2 traject, anderzijds vanuit een Werkfit traject.Stap Nu is is dé specialist bij 'kanker & werk' en 'chronisch ziek & werk'. De focus ligt hierbij op een duurzame herstelbegeleiding, verzuimbegeleiding of re-integratie met oog voor een goede werkgever-werknemer relatie. De coaches zijn veelal ervaringsdeskundige en begrijpen het belang van een goede begeleiding voor duurzaam herstel.

Research topic: “Frictional and transport properties of simulated faults in CO2 storage reservoirs and clay-rich caprocks."Supervisor:Prof. Dr. Chris SpiersDescription:In the transition to low carbon energy resources, such as geothermal energy, solar energy and wind power, we need to mitigate the current CO2 emissions. A possible technology is Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). In order for this technology to be successful, maintaining the reservoir and caprock integrity is of key importance. My PhD project focussed on investigating the chemical effects of long-term CO2-exposure on the mechanical and (fluid)transport properties of sandstone reservoir rocks and clayrich caprocks. Research activities (e.g): Development of experimental techniques, Publishing and presenting, Collaboration with external scientists to bridge geochemical modelling with experimental research. Teaching:Supervised a BSc. and a MSc. student during their thesis work at UU.Teaching assistent in BSc. and MSc. level courses (e.g. fieldwork)
