About Elizabeth Weiland

I am a strategic communications and outreach director who builds collaborative relationships to implement ambitious environmental programs. I bring a deep toolset including watershed management, compelling multicultural communications skills, motivational team leadership, brand development, strategic program implementation, and a passion for implementing innovative solutions. Working in government, I have built integrated communications and outreach practices to address challenging issues in our district from disaster response to strategic program changes. By growing strong community, media, and online networks I've become a trusted voice in advocating for constituents. Working in nonprofits, I have led fundraising through events, grants, sponsorships and earned income. I built valuable relationships, drawing resources and engaging partners to strengthen programs in business growth, education, invention, workforce development, entrepreneurship and creative expression. Through community outreach and strategic partnerships, I built the Colorado Maker Hub, providing 3 annual events - the 3rd largest robotics competition known, maker faires for 6,500 attendees, and an industry event that brought in makerspaces from across the nation. Working in the corporate realm as global marketing director and consulting, I led marketing and events across 23 countries, launched new products, led corporate events, established internal communications, global marketing strategies and tactics across 11 country hubs, and established the foundation for sales teams to meet revenue targets of up to $11 million annually. As a Consultant to all three sectors at one time or another, I have helped guide change and strategically support organizations to reach their goals. While my career has not followed the common linear progression within one profession or industry, it is rich in trailblazing adventures that have improved communities.
