With over 7 years of experience in public service and owning my business, I encompass an excellent skillset not limited to leadership, strategic planning, emotional intelligence, adaptability and program management. Currently, I am a passionate and dedicated Community Engagement Coordinator at City of Mesa, where I support various initiatives and programs to enhance community connection and resilience. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Arizona State University, and I am fluent in Spanish. I have developed strong dexterity in project management, program coordination, report writing, analytical thinking, and crisis intervention, which I apply in my current and previous roles. I collaborate with various stakeholders, such as city departments, local organizations, government agencies, and residents, to identify and address community needs, concerns, and opportunities. I also manage and facilitate various events, trainings, marketing and outreach activities to promote inclusion, community engagement and education. Previously, I was a Crisis Responder Victim Advocate at City of Tempe, where I provided emotional support, crisis intervention, and referrals to victims of crime who experienced various levels of trauma, and violence. Before that, I was an Animal Control Specialist at City of Mesa, where I enforced animal-related ordinances and regulations, and educated the public on animal welfare and safety. I have lived in five countries and enjoy immersing myself in new cultures. I strive to develop myself, learn new approaches, and refine my skills. I have experience in mentoring with the intention to empower those who are seeking guidance, promote self-awareness, and in turn I learn from their perspectives. I am motivated by the mission of serving and improving the quality of life of my community. I value collaboration, diversity, and compassion.
