I believe everyone can enjoy physical activity and its benefits if given the opportunity to participate in a developmentally appropriate, supportive and positive environment. As a professional and a Learning Leader, I sought out Physical and Health Education professional development opportunities and shared information regarding current education best practice with the HPE team. A most recent area of focus have included the facilitation of a common understanding of HPE curricular concepts and assessment practices, encouraging a collaborative planning process to create purposeful tasks that target specific curricular outcomes, implementing an inquiry-based model for teaching Physical Education that provide time on task for all students and highlighting transferable skills from one activity to another (to develop physical literacy).
